Welcome to Muldrake's Home
I am glad you stopped by. Let me introduce myself. My name is Muldrake and I am a stay-at-home parent, married with three children. My interests are many and I hope that you share some of those with me. I encourage you to send any comments, suggestions, or ideas you may have.
Before marriage and children, I was a size 6. Blonde hair, blue eyes, and perfect features. Now I look like the lady with the bucket.
Being a parent and the owner of three dogs and one cat, I am concerned about issues affecting children and animals. I try to stay current on things in the news that deal with educating the public about child-rearing and about caring for companion animals.
Please take a look at a page I am making devoted to my children, who are 21, 12, and 11 years of age, two girls and one boy:
Parenting is For Life
And here's a page devoted to my pets:
Pets Are People Too!
When I am not holding a bucket, I am holding a pencil, or typing at my computer. I am a freelance writer and I have had several articles published about NASA and former US astronauts. Inspiration for the articles came about after finding out that my thirteen year old daughter did not know who Neil Armstrong was. I believe that the American Space Program is an important part of our country's history. So I began researching and writing about the manned space flights of the '60's and '70's.
Please stop by and visit a webpage I dedicated to the people responsible for the greatest technological and scientific achievement of the 20th century.:
Space...Not Science Fiction Anymore
One of my other writing tasks has been something that I have had a lot of fun with. I have completed a novel based on Star Trek: The Next Generation. I quickly found out how competitive this particular field of writing is. I have been attempting to get a literary agent to review my book for possible representation. Whether or not the book ever gets as far as an agent's desk, is besides the point. I really enjoyed writing it and it was great practice for me to write fiction.
Check out my page I am redbuilding for writers. It contains a list of my published articles and more about my Star Trek Novel. It will also have links of interest to fellow writers. It is brand new, so check back often.
I fully support President Bush (re-elected, yay!) and our US troops who fight for our rights everyday. They are the true American heroes who defend our country and give us the freedom to write, speak, and act on issues that matter to us. In times of war, our troops deserve the full support of the very people whose rights they are defending. The anti-war protesters put our troops in harm's way. The following page is my way of trying to counteract their selfishness by letting our troops know I'm behind them 100%!
God Bless America, My Home Sweet Home
Another concern of mine deals with Vietnam Veterans in particular. They did not receive the heroes' welcome they deserved when they returned home from the war. Also, there are still those who are not receiving the veterans' benefits they earned and deserve. And, sadly, there are those POW/MIA's from all wars who never returned home to their families and friends. They have the right to be buried on American soil.
If these issues concern you as well, or if you would like more information, please visit the following websites:
America's Unsung Heroes
This is a controversial and extremely touchy subject. But if you ever sat and really listened to the music your preteens or teens are listening to, you would agree with me. Television has pulled out all of the stops as far as what can and cannot be said or done in front of millions of people. And the behavior of elected officials and people that our kids are supposed to choose for role models is so outrageous, I feel the need to express my opinion on the following subject:
Keep God In Our Country
Well, it's Spring! That means Baseball! I love baseball and my favorite team is the New York Yankees. I have been a fan since the late 70's when the great Reggie Jackson was on the team. With the season starting soon, I will be adding a lot more to a page I am building for the Bronx Bombers.
If you are a fan of baseball, whether you love the Yankees or hate them, you may find something of interest here:
How About Them Yankees?
Finally, there is something that bugs me. Actually, there are quite a few things that bug me. I find that writing down what irritates me makes me feel better. Maybe the same things bug you.
